McDonald’s broad commitment to serve employees through education and training is showcased most recently a series of education and training programs under the flagship, Archways to Opportunity. The McDonald’s Archways to Opportunity team has collaborated with Cengage Learning in the high school completion program, Career Online High School (COHS).
Career Online High School is an innovative, online, competency-based high school diploma program focused on advancing educational and career opportunities for our students.
Last week, world-renowned investor and philanthropist Warren Buffet commented on McDdonald’s Archways to Opportunities program, which helps McDonald’s employees advance their career prospects through continuing education.
To date, over 800 McDonald’s employees have enrolled in Cengage Learning’s Career Online High School (COHS) since it was made available to them as a free benefit of their employment. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. At the McDonald’s Worldwide Conference this week, the company’s Chief People Officer David Fairhurst announced his plan “to make Archways to Opportunity the largest private workforce education brand across the globe.”
