One thing’s for certain: throughout 2014, new technologies will emerge. Some of those that are currently on the “cutting edge” will become mainstream… and will probably show up in your classroom in the coming year.

Below, we’ve listed a few of the tech tools and topics that a diverse set of sources (including the IEEE Computer Society, CNET, the Huffington Post, Forbes, and the Young Adult Library Services Association) have listed as emerging (or expanding) in 2014. One—or many—of these will likely have an impact on the way you teach and interact with students.
