Delivering secure assessments in MindTap
Instructors can use Respondus LockDown Browser on its own or with Respondus Monitor for additional oversight.
Respondus LockDown Browser restricts access to other applications and websites during exams. You can also use it to disable functions like copy and paste, printing, and screen capture.
Respondus Monitor builds on LockDown Browser with optional automated proctoring and post-exam review tools for higher-stakes assessments. Key features of Respondus Monitor:
- Customizable Monitoring Settings: You can tailor the monitoring experience. For example, you can require students to show their ID or check their testing environment before starting the exam.
- Webcam Recording: The integration allows for webcam recording of students during assessments.
- Access to Proctoring Analytics: Review results using Review Priority, which highlights potential areas of concern, helping you determine which exam results need further review.
With these tools, you can create secure testing environments without needing to manage a separate platform. Students access secure assessments within the MindTap course workflow they already use. You get test results you can trust, and students get a fair and consistent testing experience that offers clear boundaries.
How to enable Respondus in MindTap
LockDown Browser is now available in supported
There are two options for accessing Respondus Monitor:
- Institutional Site License Via Respondus: If your institution already has a Respondus site license, you can add your license information directly in MindTap. Then, you can enable Respondus Monitor for supported assignments.
- Individual Student Purchase: After selecting the individual student purchase option, you can enable Respondus Monitor for supported assignments. The first time the student goes to take their test with Respondus Monitor, they will be prompted to purchase access through the Respondus site. After purchasing, students have unlimited access to take as many tests with Respondus as the instructor creates for that course.
