MindTap Educator Guides

The MindTap educator guides are an incredible resource at your disposal. The guides provide detailed information about content specific to your MindTap solution to help you plan and personalize your course. Studies have shown that students are more likely to engage with—and therefore retain—the course content if it’s been customized by their instructor.

Barbara Turner is a Professor in the Marketing Department at Rowan College in Gloucester County. She has been using the Educator Guide to assist her in planning for her course for several years now.

Barbara’s approach to utilizing the Educator Guide has grown over time along with the results she has seen.

My overall results reflected a tremendous increase in student activity and retention, as well as an average grade increase by 10 points.

One of the most helpful aspects of the guide for planning her course is the column showing the estimated seat time and recommended points. This has helped her plan her students’ workload and provide realistic number of assignments per chapter.

Barbara’s Marketing course includes scenario-based questions that ask students to apply their understanding instead of just recalling definitions from the chapter. This is a great comprehension tool and Barbara assigns these and then uses the MindTap Progress  App to drops the 2 lowest scores.
